Running Gait Analysis

If you are getting recurrent injuries from running, a gait analysis may be a good idea for you.

Many elite runners have ‘quirky’ techniques (think Paula Radcliffe’s nodding head) that don’t necessarily slow them down. As humans we are not symmetrical and we are not the same, what works for one person may cause injury in another. So, I am not aiming for ‘perfect technique’ (does anyone know what that is anyway?). I’m a firm believer in the ‘if it aint broke, don’t fix it’ theory of running!

However, there are certain things that do predispose us to injury (over-striding for example) so I am here to look for those issues that may be leading to your recurrent injury.

We will conduct a video analysis of you running and talk through any results we find. I will then give you a tailored plan that will most likely include strength exercises along with functional retraining drills to ensure the changes carry through into your running.
